Egli EVH500 "by Rafi"

Project "The youngsters are taking over"

The Story

In 2019 Eglimotorcycles in Switzerland started an apprentice project where our junior mechanics get the chance to restore and customize Egli bikes that we either have already in our stock or that we buy back from our customers. We call it „The youngsters are taking over“
And we ask the question how an Egli should look like to appeal to the young generation.

About Rafael

Rafael Cunha, nickname Rafi, graduated from high school in the french part of Switzerland. After a short stay abroad, he decided to become a motorcycle mechanic. Thanks to his high school diploma, he was able to start straight into the 2nd year of his apprenticeship with us. Today, he is in his 4th year and will finish in 2022.

The Job

Rafael chose for his apprentice project an Egli Honda EVH500, which, disassembled into individual parts, was stored in our workshop. The job was a rebuild with full restoration of engine and transmission.

History of the bike

The motorcycle was delivered to Switzerland in May 1976 and has never changed hands in all these years. In 2016, the company was able to buy the Egli Honda back from the first owner as a future restoration project.
